Updated: 10-15cm of snow expected Sunday night into Monday

It will be the first significant snowfall of the season and it’s expected Sunday night.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement that includes the whole province, except for Yarmouth and Shelburne counties.

The forecaster says snow will be heavy at times Sunday night that will continue into Monday afternoon or evening, with 10 to 15cm expected, possibly more in higher elevations.

Snow may change to rain for parts of the Atlantic coast as well as Cape Breton.

Environment Canada warns about hazardous driving conditions, possible school closures or delayed openings and cancellations.
