Two homeless men dead in two weeks in Annapolis Valley

Two homeless men have died within two weeks of each other in the Annapolis Valley.

Billy Walsh lived in Windsor and was in his mid-50s. He was found dead on Nov. 26.

The other was a 52-year-old man living in Kentville. He was found dead on Dec. 4.

Police do not expect any foul play, but the medical examiner’s service will determine the exact cause of death.

Local community groups say this highlights the need for more resources to help homeless people.

They say more affordable housing, as well as mental health and addictions supports are all necessary.

A memorial service for Walsh is set for Wednesday.
