Correctional Service Canada says there’s a lockdown at Springhill Institution.
In a release, CSC states it was put in place January 3rd to enable staff to conduct an “exceptional search” at the medium security federal institution.
The search was ordered to “ensure the safety and security of the institution, its staff and inmates.”
Correctional Service says visits have been suspended until the search is completed.
Normal operations will resume as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
