Man arrested for valley murder after months-long investigation

After months of investigating, the RCMP have charged a man for second-degree murder.

On Aug. 31, police found a 66-year-old man dead inside a home on Virginia Road in Virginia East, near Annapolis Royal.

Since then, officers have gathered information from six crime scenes and interviewed more than 100 people.

Shortly before 10 a.m. yesterday, police arrested a 21-year-old man at a home on Mary Jane Riley Road.

He remains in custody and will appear in court again next week.

The investigation continues with help from police in Alberta, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
