Houston wants next PM to share N.S. priorities

Nova Scotia’s Premier wants to work closely with the next Prime Minister.

Tim Houston sent a letter to Liberal leader Mark Carney and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre on the province’s priorities.

He says growing the economy is at the forefront.

“I’m happy that the message has been received, and then how we work through that, whether it’s a campaign promise from their perspective or whether it’s part of governing after an election. The main thing right now is that they know how important these issues are to us,” said Premier Houston after Question Period Wednesday.

Other priorities include a national energy corridor, the Chignecto Isthmus, the childcare agreement, a new pulp mill and investments in wharves.

Houston says they are fair issues, and nothing is unreasonable.

“These are the priorities that we have, we have to grow the economy in this promise and we’ll continue to push.”
