SiRT investigating after man arrested with broken shoulder in New Glasgow

Serious Incident Response Team is investigating after a man was arrested with a broken shoulder.

The police watchdog says, on Sunday afternoon, an officer with the New Glasgow Police tried to pull over a vehicle that was reported stolen.

But the vehicle fled and crashed into another unrelated vehicle at the intersection of Temperance and MacLean Street in New Glasgow. The suspect tried to run away but he was caught by police.

At the hospital, he was diagnosed with a broken shoulder. Because of the man’s injury, they are reviewing the case.

SiRT investigates any police cases involving death, serious injury, intimate partner violence or other matters of public interest.
