Update: Police ID Dartmouth shooting victim

The victim of a fatal shooting in Dartmouth has been identified.

Halifax Regional Police say 52-year-old Tyson Shandell Cain died.

On Thursday at about 12:00 p.m. officers responded to a report of gun shots in the area of Highfield Park Drive and True North Crescent.

They found a man in a vehicle with gunshot wounds.

Police performed CPR on him, but he was pronounced deceased.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service confirmed the death to be a homicide.

Investigators do not believe this was a random event.

Police ask that anyone who may have video from the area throughout Thursday morning, or information about the incident, call 902-490-5020.
