Diesel prices up in N.S. after interrupter clause used

Drivers are seeing a big spike in the price of diesel on Tuesday morning.

The Nova Scotia Energy Board invoked the interrupter clause at midnight outside of the regular schedule.

It is used to respond to shifts in global trade due to geo-political factors or the weather.

In this province, diesel is up about 6 cents per litre to a minimum of nearly $1.47.

It is up by 7 cents in New Brunswick.

Gasoline prices are unchanged.
