A small wildfire is burning near Sydney, Cape Breton, in the area of Kytes Hill and Grand Lake.
The Department of Natural Resources says the fire is about 2 hectares in size.
They say DNR staff, a helicopter, along with local fire departments and Nova Scotia Power are on the scene.
They are asking people to avoid the area, and nobody is being evacuated as of their update at 6:04 p.m.
Power was temporarily shut off in the area to help with the firefighting effort but it has since been restored.
