4th charged in Cape Breton murder investigation

Cape Breton Regional Police have charged a fourth person connected to the shooting death of 44-year-old Jeffrey Pearson in Whitney Pier.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at a Shore Road home on February 22nd.

Three people ran away, which prompted an emergency alert. They were later arrested at an apartment complex and charged with first-degree murder.

Police arrested a 49-year-old man in Halifax on Thursday.

He is also charged with first-degree murder.

The accused is set to appear in Halifax Provincial Court Friday.

Police say to maintain the integrity of Court proceedings, no additional details can be released about the ongoing Major Crime Unit investigation.
