Dalhousie locks out faculty association members

Dalhousie University has locked out members of the Dalhousie Faculty Association (DFA), effective Wednesday morning at 9:30.

The university says campus services remain open, and students should continue to plan for their arrival on schedule, with residences prepared to welcome new arrivals. Officials add that if the lockout is resolved quickly, the fall term will go ahead as planned.

If disruption appears likely, the university will notify students about which courses will proceed and which will be suspended until an agreement is reached.

The first day of classes for the fall semester is scheduled to begin on September 2.

Dalhousie says more details for students will be provided this week, and information on the lockout is being shared through the school’s Labour Relations website.
