Police arrest Millbrook man after standoff in Colchester subdivision

A man has been arrested after barricading himself inside a home in Colchester County.

The RCMP says at about 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, they learned a man wanted for failing to comply with conditions was at a Truro Heights residence.

He refused to come out when responding officers arrived.

In a release, the Mounties say in consideration of public and police safety, members of the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team attended.

Out of an abundance of caution, RCMP notified a nearby school of the unfolding matter and local bus drop-offs were temporarily delayed.

The 32-year-old Millbrook man exited the home just before 2 p.m. and was arrested.

He is facing two charges of Failure to Comply with a Release Order and over thirty other charges currently before the courts.

He had a first court appearance on Wednesday.
