More details for two homicides in Pictou County

We are learning more about the homicides of two people in Pictou County last year.

It was November 9, 2024, when RCMP responded to a burned vehicle on MacLean Road in Greenhill, and found human remains.

The major crime unit says the vehicle of 32-year-old Keleana “Kelly” Trask of Truro and 34-year-old Tyler Meagher from Grand Prairie, Alberta was set on fire on purpose.

Officers believe the two were dead before the blaze even started.

Investigators are still looking for witnesses and anyone who has information about Kelly and Tyler before they died.

“We’ve been able to advance our investigation with the support of the community and partner agencies. We are now continuing to appeal to the public for information related to the days before and after the homicides took place,” says Cst. Tom Dunderdale, lead investigator. “What may seem like a small detail could play a big part in our investigation.”
