N.S. author announces new book hot off success of Heated Rivalry TV show

Hot off the hype for the Heated Rivalry TV show, the author has announced a new book.

Rachel Reid’s Unrivaled will be the seventh entry in the Game Changers series and releases on Sept. 29, 2026.

The books inspired the show, which follows two players from rival hockey teams, Canadian Shane Hollander, played by Hudson Williams, and Russian Ilya Rozanov, played by Connor Storrie. While they might be rivals on-ice, behind the scenes they have a secret romance.

The two main characters in the book are returning, and this time, “they have nothing to hide,” and are playing on the same team, according to a news release from the publisher Harlequin Books.

They kept their love a secret for more than a decade, but now everyone knows, and they’re married and playing on the same team, the release says.

While they are getting some great responses, others are not so happy, and it may be their biggest challenge yet, the publisher says.

The TV show was made with a lot of Canadian talent, and the Crave Original is a hit across the globe. Jacob Tierney, the show creator, is also Canadian, and much of the show was shot in Canada.

Preorders are available online for the upcoming book release.
