Paramedics Getting Assaulted on the Job Becoming too Common

Getting assaulted on the job is unfortunately becoming more common for parademics.

Tuesday two paramedics were assaulted responding to a motor vehicle accident in Bridgewater, allegedly trying to help a patient.

While Sunday in Halifax a paramedic was stabbed with a syringe responding to an assault in progress.

International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 727 representing paramedics in Nova Scotia is speaking out saying after two assaults in one week, violence in the workplace is not acceptable.

They say the injuries were minor and the assailant was charged but it is traumatic, and paramedics are getting assaulted on the job all too frequently.
