2 from N.S. on Team Canada at U18 Women’s Worlds in Cape Breton

Two Nova Scotians are on Team Canada, in their home province.

Jaylee MacKinnon of Clark’s Harbour and Kendall Doiron of Boylston are playing in the U18 Women’s World hockey championship in Cape Breton.

MacKinnon plays women’s hockey in Ontario, while Doiron goes to Shattuck St. Mary’s in the U.S.

A pre-tournament game was held in Halifax last night, as Canada beat Finland 11-0.

The tournament starts Saturday in Membertou as Canada takes on the Swiss.

It continues until January 18 with the medal round games at Centre 200 in Sydney.
