Province Funds Africville Strategic Plan

Support for the Africville Museum.

The province announced 150-thousand dollars for the Heritage Trust to freshen up programming and come up with a strategic plan for the future.

African Nova Scotian Affairs Minister Pat Dunn says Africville is an important cultural landmark, and it needs to continue to be shared with Nova Scotians and visitors.

The Trust was created in 2010 after a settlement and apology from the HRM for destruction of the community in the 1960s.

The museum opened in 2012.
