Mariners Beat Lumberjacks To Sweep Season Series

The Yarmouth Mariners beat the South Shore Lumberjacks 4-2 Sunday night at Mariners Centre.

The win gives Yarmouth the 8-0 season series sweep.

Penalties and misconducts filled the game-sheet early in the third period.

After being down 3-0, the Jacks made a game of it and got within one in the third.

However, the Mariners sealed it with an empty-netter.

Yarmouth’s goals came from Reilly Mayne, Nathan Kelly, Alex Roode and Michael Marquez, while Thomas Johnson and Zach Welsh scored for South Shore.

Joey Lovullo got the win in goal, William Forbes took the loss. The Mariners outshot the Jacks 40-25.

Yarmouth will travel to Truro tonight to face the Bearcats, while South Shore will visit Truro tomorrow night.
