A Hants County man was arrested after trying to flee from police in Cole Harbour.
The 35-year old from Ellershouse was wanted following an assault in his home community.
Halifax District RCMP say they attempted to used a spike belt to try and stop him on Highway 7 Thursday, but he swerved, hit a truck and kept on going.
Other officers were on scene of an unrelated accident on the Forest Hills Extension, and more spike belts were put down.
The suspect was stopped there, and tried to flee but got stuck in the ditch.
The man is facing a slew of charges, he was to appear in court Tuesday in Windsor.
