A man is now in custody after barricading himself, armed inside a home in Shelburne.
Power was temporarily turned off in the area.
At 7:10 p.m., a crisis negotiating team was on scene.
At 6 p.m., police say three people had been arrested including two who attempted to get in the house and the third who went in and left.
It was around 5:40 p.m., Monday, when police say they were responding to the incident on Parr Street.
They shut down the roadway between George Street and Charlotte Street, while immediate neighbours were evacuated.
RCMP say they remain on scene trying to work toward a peaceful resolution.
