Four communities in Western Nova Scotia are getting wastewater system upgrades.
The province announced nearly 4-million dollars for the work in Mahone Bay, Yarmouth, Digby and Clare.
Municipal Affairs Minister John Lohr says residents and businesses will benefit from the upgrades, and it will create more growth in communities.
1.8-million is going to the work in Mahone Bay, which will increase capacity for wastewater for more than 70 properties.
Over 800-thousand is for Yarmouth to treat and manage waste and storm water.
A section of Mount Street in Digby will be upgraded, along with a proposed housing development on Sunset Road in Meteghan.
The federal government and local municipal units are also providing funding.
