33-year-old man faces first degree murder charge in Cole Harbour hit and run

A first-degree murder charge has been laid against a 33-year-old man after a hit and run in Cole Harbour.

It happened on Monday afternoon on Shrewsbury Street.

The man was considered dangerous and the subject of an emergency alert before being arrested.

Police say a 30-year-old woman was killed after she tried to get out of the man’s vehicle.

They add when she escaped, she was deliberately run over and later died from her injuries.

Another person who tried to help the woman was also injured.

Police say the investigation is still underway and being carried out by their homicide team.
