19-year-old is dead, two injured after collision on Highway 4 in Ben Eoin

A 19-year-old Lingan man is dead and two others injured after a collision on Highway 4 in Ben Eoin.

The vehicle he was driving left the road, struck a power pole and came to rest in a ditch.

Emergency crews responded at 4:40pm, Thursday, shutting down the highway for several hours.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers were also injured and taken to hospital, including a 21-year-old woman from Grand Mira, as well as a 20-year-old Glace Bay man.

Police continue to investigate.
