Nova Scotia Health launches new website with estimated wait times for ER’s

A new tool for wait times at emergency departments across the province.

Nova Scotia Health has launched a website that lists how long you might wait in an ER in ten different hospitals, with more sites being added in the future.

They say the times posted represent the average hours you’d wait between being triaged and seeing a doctor; even a prediction of how long the wait will be, in 12 hours’ time.

The times are an estimate and will be updated every hour. They say once you arrive at the hospital, the times may change due to changing demands in the hospital.

Emergencies are first priority with the wait times based on the lower end of the triage scale.

Call 811 for health advice.

To access the mental health mobile crisis team call 902-429-8167 or toll-free at 1-888-429-8167. This is a 24 hour, seven days a week phone service to help you or your loved one cope with mental health and addiction challenges in the moment.
