Councilor Ed Halverson takes name out of election for Lunenburg mayor

Councilor Ed Halverson will not be running for mayor of Lunenburg, despite alluding to this intention a few weeks back. In a Facebook post Halverson thanked everyone for their support

“Lunenburger’s deserve to have a fulsome conversation. There’s lots going on in this town, that requires a lot of time that I simply do not have at this point,” Halverson said.

He said he thanks the many people who offered their support and encouragement. He said he will continue to fulfill his role as councilor and looks forward to serving alongside whoever is elected.

Jamie Myra remains the only official candidate.

Voting is on August 12th.
