IMP Aerospace workers ratify new agreement

More than 300 IMP Aerospace employees have avoided a strike right before the holidays.

Unifor Local 2215 says members working at IMP in Hammonds Plains and Enfield, have ratified a new collective agreement.

Members covered by the agreement include airframe mechanics, avionics technicians, aircraft painters, cable assemblers, stores controllers and maintenance workers.

According to a release, the new deal sees increases to base wage rates, shift premiums, allowances, and improved paid time off.

The agreement will be effective retroactive to April 1, 2023 and expire in 2026.

Wages will increase by 5% in the first year, followed by 3% in each of the next two years of the contract.
