Suspicious disappearance of woman in Cape Breton being investigated as homicide

The suspicious disappearance of a woman in Cape Breton is now being investigated as a homicide.

RCMP from say they responded to a report of a homicide November 22 at home on Old Route 5 in Big Bras D’Or.

There then learned 48-year-old Natacha Leroy had disappeared under suspicious circumstances.

Two days later, her remains were found in Big Bras D’Or by police dogs.

Her death has been ruled a homicide and the Northeast Nova Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.
