Have your say on the provincial budget

Nova Scotians can have their say on the provincial budget during the province’s annual budget consultation.

“Our province is growing, and our government has been investing in transforming healthcare and advancing solutions for housing, the environment and the economy since the beginning of our mandate,” said Finance and Treasury Board Minister Allan MacMaster. “We’re asking Nova Scotians about what matters most to them as we create Budget 2024-25 and future budgets.”

As of September, the province’s revenue for the 2023-24 fiscal year is $14.6 billion and expenses are expected to be $15.2 billion, so the government is forecasting a deficit of $402.7 million.

You can either mail in your suggestions to your MLA or to the Department of Finance and Treasury Board or email budget@novascotia.ca.

The deadline to submit is January 26.
