A fourth person who has had HIV since the 80’s is seemingly cured of the disease.
The anonymous patient received a bone marrow transplant for his leukemia from a donor who was naturally resistant to the virus.
The patient has been in remission of the cancer for 17 months and shows no signs of having HIV in their body.
