Update: Fatal collision on Hwy 103

A 63-year-old man from Musquodoboit Harbour is dead after a collision on Hwy 103.

RCMP say it happened around 1a.m. December 16 in East River.

A Suzuki Sx4 was travelling westbound went it veered over the centre line and collided head on with a Ford 150 travelling eastbound, near Exit 7.

The driver and only occupant in the Suzuki, died at the scene.

The only passenger in the Ford, a 52-year-old Dartmouth man had serious injuries, while the driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old East Preston man, was not injured.

Highway 103 was closed for several hours but has since re-opened.

The investigation is ongoing.
