Bridgewater: Relay For Life Raises Over $43,000

They may have been small in stature, but their results were mighty.

Eight teams participated in this year’s Relay for Life event in Bridgewater at the South Shore Exhibition grounds, raising more than $43,000.

The goal was to raise $35,000 this year.

Development Officer for the Canadian Cancer Society, Jo-Ann Mead, says she is thrilled for everyone involved.

“It says a lot about their passion for the cause. We had wonderful support across the South Shore.”

Money will go towards cancer research and help patients attend The Lodge That Gives and Camp Goodtimes.

Mead says everyone should be proud of their effort.

“Couldn’t be happier for all of the volunteers and the teams that worked so hard to put this event together.”

Mead says the local organizing committee will break for a few months before it gets back to work preparing for next year’s event.
