Provincial Funding Helps Bridgewater, MODL With Community Improvement Projects

The Nova Scotia government has provided $500,000 to help communities improve the way they look and help attract visitors.

The Town of Bridgewater is receiving $20,500 to finish installing their new, blue directional signs and to build new railings at the parkade.

Mayor David Mitchell says the town is hoping to make them consistent in look and colour as the ones at Pijinuiskaq Park.

“Because right now they are two different styles, two different colours and two different materials. It’s trying to link the two together and how they look.”

He says the current parkade railings can only improve.

“Anything will make it look nicer. New railings will for sure improve the aesthetics of that.”

Mitchell expects the work to start this summer.

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg also received $15,500 to install two identification signs on Highway 103.
