The motorcyclist’s support group Bikers Down Society has expressed their condolences.
President Jimi Swinamer says it’s a situation that’s hard to avoid.
“You can imagine what a deer can do to a motorcycle. That’s the hardest thing, is the unknown in regards to the animals.”
One other rider in the group sustained minor injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours while an RCMP Collision Analyst examined the scene.
It re-opened shortly before six o’clock this morning.
RCMP are continuing to investigate and express their condolences to the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
