‘It really stings’, 60 ft Halifax Jazz Festival banner stolen

A local non-profit organization says they are heartbroken after their 60 ft banner was stolen just days before their main event.

Halifax Jazz Festival says it happened either Monday night or early Tuesday morning from the corner of Barrington and South Streets and are now asking the public for help finding it.

“Every dollar we spend is carefully considered – and this banner was created not only to promote this year’s festival, but to beautify our site and be reused for years to come,” says the festival in a social media post.

“We pour everything into bringing music into this city – including offering 70 per cent off our programming for free. So, when something like this happens, it really stings.”

The organization is asking that it be returned to their festival site on Lower Water Street or email info@halifaxjazzfestival.ca, with no questions asked.
