Golf Tournament Raises Over $22,000 For Big Brothers Big Sisters

Over $22,000 was raised Thursday in the 18th annual Golf For Kids Sake tournament.

The fundraiser was is support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the South Shore.

Executive Director and Mentoring Coordinator, Jennifer Meister, says she’s thankful to everyone who supported the event.

“Without this event and without the support of everyone who comes and our major sponsors, we honestly couldn’t exist. That’s what makes this event as important and powerful as it is.”

The money will go towards mentoring programs for kids in Lunenburg and Queens counties.

Meister says they had some new and returning teams this year.

“We have many repeat supporters who come year after year and always support us and come here to show how much they appreciate what we do. But, we also have new folks who come every year and learn about everything and keep coming back. All of that really means a lot and gets us out in the community.”

She says they will be back for their 19th golf tournament next year.
