Where Did The Great Movie Quotes Go?

When you look at the greatest lines from movies it’s the classics like the Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind and the Godfather that punch above their weight as far as contributing great quotes . Two of those films are from 1939, one is from 1942 and the Godfather is from the Seventies:
Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.
I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too!
There’s no place like home”
Play it, Sam. Play ‘As Time Goes By.’
Round up the usual suspects.
We’ll always have Paris
Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.
Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.
After all, tomorrow is another day!
As God is my witness, I’ll never be hungry again.
I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse.
Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
Then throughout the Eighties and Nineties there are just so many great quotes that became everyone’s catchprase – You can’t handle the truth, You had me from hello, Show me the money, I’ll have what she’s having, Hasta la vista baby, My mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.
So what happened in the 2000’s??? You get some great lines from the early part – “My Precious” from Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers in 2002 (which sounds a bit creepy these days) and a couple from the indie cult classic “Napoleon Dynamite” from 2004, and then, nothing of note.
Were there really that few notable quotes from the films of the last (almost) 20 years? Or does it take a couple of decades to recognize a film (and a quote) as a classic?
