Keji Front Country Reopens Today

After being slammed by Hurricane Dorian, parts of Kejimkujik National Park and Seaside are now open to the public.

Power was restored yesterday to Keji National Park, allowing the park to reopen its front country area for public use, which includes the visitor centre, Jeremy’s Bay Campground, Jakes Landing, and eight front country hiking and multi-purpose trails.

The back country area, as well as Big Dam Road and Eel Weir Road will remain closed until crews can move through the area to remove damaged and snapped trees, and repair damage to several of the boardwalks.

In a release, Parks Canada says Keji Seaside reopened its main trail to Harbour rocks Beach and St. Catherines Beach earlier this week. The Port Joli Trail however, is closed for the remainder of the season due to erosion of the park’s coastal trails.
