Happy “Love Your…. Animal Companion Day??”

Today is “Love Your Pet Day” and according to PETA, that is a derogatory holiday. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) says we are referring to our dogs, cats, or whatever wanted animal that is living in our home incorrectly. Jennifer White of PETA says the term “pet” reduces the animal to an inanimate object.
“A lot of people at home who have dogs and cats, they will call these animals pets, and they will refer to themselves as an owner. This implies that the animals are a possession”

Our requested vocabulary change doesn’t end there either. There are a lot of common phrases that need to be changed in the eyes of PETA as well. Phrases like “bring home the bacon” need to become more animal friendly like “bring home the bagels.”
Here is a full list of requested changes.
