A chance encounter has reunited a family with a missing heirloom.
Bernadette Jordan, the MP for South Shore-St.Margaret’s was in Lunenburg this past February to speak with a group of Brownies.
Jordan learned one of the parents was living in her childhood home.
“And we were just chatting and he said, ‘I have something you might be interested in seeing’. He had an actual picture on his phone of my Dad’s brand. I went, ‘Oh my God, you have the brand!’ He said, ‘I found it in the yard.'”
The brand was a gift to Jordan’s father.
“The brand is actually his initials. I remember him putting it in cement a couple of times. But, I think it was just a really cool thing somebody had made for him one time. But it was always in the house. We always just had it.”
Jordan says she has nothing from her Dad after he passed away.
She is touched and grateful the homeowner decided to return the brand to her family.
