Bridgewater Man Facing Immigration and Fraud Charges

A 50-year-old Bridgewater man is facing charges of misrepresentation of immigration status and fraud in excess of more than $200,000.

David Sadik, who also went by David Levy, was arraigned in Halifax Provincial Court yesterday for an Immigration and Refugee Protection Act charge of misrepresentation by allegedly providing false information about his identity.

He is also facing a charge of fraud over $5,000 for allegedly collecting more than $230,000 in both federal and provincial social assistance for the last two decades illegally.

He was arrested Nov. 15th, and was remanded back into custody until Friday, when he is expected to return to Halifax Provincial Court.
