I am scared to look at the news most of the time lately, but especially on the weekends.
Seems the list of bad for 2020 is always growing and this weekend was no exception. I remember how everyone was saying this year will be great, but instead it seems like a real life movie about biblical times. We began the year with fires, then the pandemic and now “Murder Hornets”…. There were also other things thrown into that list of terrible, just for good measure I guess.
I was dreading that the black flies and mosquitoes are waking up for another season and soon we will see all the posts of those freaking out over June bugs, but those are just all a nuisance.
The “Murder Hornets”, fun name for the “Asian giant hornet”, these are scary for two reasons.
First is the fact they can be up to two inches (about 5 cm) long, and can send you into shock if they sting, killing up to 50 people a year in other countries.
AND second is that they kill bees. We know we need bees to live and these…. bugs, (need to be G-rated), can kill a hive in a matter of hours.
Here are a few articles on this critter:

Murder Hornets Are In North America
Now, I need to give you some good news too. The peepers are out and fireflies will soon be buzzing around, see, not all bad!
