Talks end between NSCC and Atlantic Academic Union

Talks between the Nova Scotia Community College and the Atlantic Academic Union have ended.

The two sides met with a conciliator Thursday to try to reach a new collective agreement.

Negotiating since August, they reached an impasse last month.

According to a letter from NSCC to students that was shared on social media, the college has emailed its offers responding to the union’s counteroffers to the AAU bargaining team and conciliation officers, with a request to respond by Friday morning.

If a deal is not reached, NSCC could see the first strike in its history start Monday.

The AAU represents more than one thousand members across Nova Scotia.

More to come.
