Atlantica Party ending

The Atlantica Party Association of Nova Scotia is saying good-bye.

According to a statement, the political party will file for voluntary deregistration with Elections Nova Scotia effective April 30th.

Party leader Kyle Woodbury clarifies that the decision is not a reflection of financial challenges or a lack of support for their ideals but due to a shortage of volunteers.

Organized by Jonathan Dean, a financial advisor from Bedford in the early 2000s, the party was first registered in 2010 and never won any seats in the provincial legislature.

The party was known for promoting the Maritime Union.
