Star Mooseheads forward gets 5 game suspension for DUI

Jordan Dumais has been suspended for five games for driving under the influence.

In an email to our newsroom from Halifax Regional Police, a vehicle was stopped by officers on Brunswick Street in Halifax around 2:20 a.m., March 1.

The driver was arrested for showing signs of ‘impairment’.

Police say Dumais will be in court to face DUI charges at a later date.

In a statement posted to their social media page, The Mooseheads say the 19-year-old violated the QMJHL and the team’s code of conduct.

The organization says although he is healthy again, after undergoing surgery in January, he will miss the remainder of the regular season games as well as the first game of the playoffs.

The Mooseheads say the matter will be handled internally.

Dumais’ suspensions began Thursday night against the Charlottetown Islanders.
