One person dead after single vehicle collision

RCMP say one person has died after a Lunenburg Co. car crash.

Police say the vehicle was driving in North River at 1:21 p.m. on Sunday when the driver lost control and overturned in the ditch.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene they pronounced a 31-year-old man dead.

The 28-year-old woman that was also in the vehicle was airlifted to Halifax via LifeFlight with serious injuries.

North River Rd. was closed and traffic was diverted to Hwy. 10.

An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist was called to attend the scene and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
