Rural areas are not being left out when it comes to support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia (RCF), that oversees issues concerning rural areas, is currently taking applications for the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF), said Jean Ward, Chair of the Rural Communities Foundation of NS.
The federal government’s $350M ECSF is specifically designed to help charities and non-profit organizations who are serving the vulnerable population sector. The Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia (RCF), who oversee issues concerning rural areas, is currently taking applications for the ECSF.
The RCF provides grants to initiatives concerning rural communities.
“With every program we do, that is money spent among the communities in Nova Scotia which otherwise wouldn’t be there for them to use. Every time we do that we feel good about it because someone is getting the benefit of it,” said Ward.
Applications will be accepted here weekly until July 27 for activities happening between April 1-March 31 2021.
