One of the things I miss the most from the last couple of months is the antique car shows. I love classic vehicles. Nothing better on a sunny weekend to wander around checking out the lines of the cars and trucks we grew up with.
There’s an interesting meme making the rounds of social media – you have to pick just one of the classic cars (and van) from famous tv shows and movies. You have a choice of the Dukes of Hazzard Dodge Charger, Back to the Future’s Delorean, Knight Rider’s Firebird, the Torino from Starsky and Hutch, James Bond’s Aston Martin from Goldfinger, the Australian Ford Falcon from Mad Max, Ghostbusters Cadillac ambulance, the A-team’s GMC Vandura, and the two Ferraris from Magnum P I and Miami Vice.
So I drooled over these finely tuned masterpieces for a good hour. Then I made my choice.
If there had been any pickup truck (including the Beverly Hillbillies truck) it would have won hands down. I’m frequently in need of a truck, but not enough to justify owning one that just sits around in the driveway all the time. So I’m going to “pity the fool” that doesn’t take the GMC Vandura for those days when you want to pick up a large item at the store.
