Submissions being accepted for 2024 Wine Award

It’s that time of year for local wineries to shine.

Submissions are now being accepted for the 2024 Lieutenant-Governor’s award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines.

“The wine industry in Nova Scotia is known for producing highly reputable wines that have been recognized at both national and international levels,” said Lt.-Gov. Arthur J. LeBlanc. “Each winery and winemaker have put in long hours and tremendous amounts of work, particularly during seasons defined by extreme weather conditions. I am proud to recognize their efforts and the quality of their products through this award program.”

Wineries are allowed to submit up to three wines made with 100 per cent Nova Scotian grapes, which are then judged through a blind-tasting process by independent experts.

Up to five wines will be selected.

The award ceremony will be at Government House in July.

The deadline for submissions is May 17.
