2021 New Year’s Resolutions… Is It Even Worth It?

This time last year we were so excited to get rid of 2019, full of optimism as we anticipated an amazing 2020. I was one of the people thinking that the year 2020 just has to be amazing. Even had Barbara Walters saying “This is 2020” that I played as we rung in the new year at the party I was DJing… Well to say the year didn’t work out as expected would be an understatement. I can’t help but snicker a bit when I look at some of the most popular resolutions entering 2020.

Canadians’ top 2020 New Year’s resolutions

When it comes to 2020, Canadians have made a number of resolutions. According to survey respondents, here are the top five.

  1. Save more money (70%)
  2. Eat more healthfully (60%)
  3. Pay off debt (47%)
  4. Travel more (37%)
  5. Learn a new skill or hobby (34%)

Many respondents (67%) are confident that they’ll meet their resolutions.

Who could have guessed that not forgetting your mask would be a huge goal for this year.

So here we are again, the countdown to a new and better year is on as we get ready to welcome 2021. Big question on my mind, will people even bother setting goals for the new year this time around after the way things turned around in the past 12 months? The experts are saying there may be even more resolutions made as we prepare for a reset year.
