The Bridgewater Farmers’ Market has adapted to changing needs and has moved to a new location.
Volunteer Manager Rita Landgraf says they entered into an agreement with the town in May to set up at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena so that could have an indoor space to use.
“When we were getting ready for our season we saw the need to operate as an online market, back in May while the province was still in lock-down, which meant we needed to pack orders and keep the product until it was picked up by the customer, which meant we needed to be indoors,” she said.
The market was setting up in the town centre parking lot on King Street.
The online store opens Monday at 9 A.M. and closes on Wednesday at midnight, and pick up is scheduled for the same time as the physical market.
Landgraf says all precautions are being to taken to ensure the health and safety of both vendors and customers, including the use of masks or shields by vendors and bottles of hand sanitizers on each table.
“We are also trying to create a one-way flow through the market but generally there is enough space for people to stay safe,” she said.
The market runs every Saturday from 9-12 A.M. To order online visit the website here.
